Amy Wan was born in ShunDe, China and raised in Vancouver, BC. Ever since she moved to Vancouver, Amy found pleasure in bringing her unique ideas to form through manipulation of fabric. This soon turned into passion as she looked for ways to develop the necessary skills to continue bringing her ideas to life. Amy believes that there is never an end to learning, and her positive learning attitude has allowed her to develop and hone her technical skills in design and production.

Amy’s knowledge and skills were put to the test at Kwantlen Polytechnic University as she designed her final academic collection: Aymee, a transitional maternity, and nursing collection for pregnant women to wear through all stages of pregnancy. While working on her collection, she was able to rely on her technical skills in draping, computer and manual drafting, illustration, and technical package development to work efficiently. In addition, Amy was able to communicate her designs to others, critically, analyze those responses, and synthesize those feedback to ensure the best quality work is achieved. Amy’s passion for materializing quality, function, and aesthetics inspired her to produce a contemporary maternity collection: Aymee.
